Insulation - material, substance or spacing, which provides a barrier impeding a flow of energy between two parts of a given system. The insulation depends on the type of energy which needs to be impeded: electrical, thermal, acoustic, etc.1)

There are no known materials which could be used as a magnetic insulator for static magnetic field conditions, at room temperature. However, there are various materials which can be used to shunt or direct magnetic field away from a given volume of interest (magnetic shielding), oppose the presence of varying magnetic field (superconductors), reflect electromagnetic waves (electromagnetic shielding), etc.

Also, in physics there are materials known as magnetic topological insulators, which could find applications in spintronics. 2)
