FRM ferrite core - a type of frame core produced by Ferroxcube.1)

All these look similar, with the outer rectangular frame designed to accept the inner cuboidal bar. Compared to other cores with similar effective area the FRM cores are designed to have longer relative winding width. Thus, the bobbin can have multiple sections and it is made in SMD version.

As of 2015 the FRM cores were offered in two material grades: 3C90 and 3C91.2)3)
